Support Gaby Carter's Fight Against Stage IV Cancer

Thank you for coming to Gaby Carter's GoFundMe. We appreciate everyone who has leapt forward to love and support Gaby!
As many of you know, Gaby was diagnosed with Stage I colon cancer 3 years ago, two weeks before her 50th birthday. She was put into a high surveillance, “watchful waiting” program of quarterly scans, scopes and blood tests. Things held steady over the years and there appeared to be hope for remission. In April of 2024, labs and scans looked great and we were planning a remission party for October 2024.
October 21, 2024 brought a much graver reality. The cancer had aggressively escalated from Stage I to Stage IV. The labs showed obvious liver involvement and an extremely elevated blood tumor marker. A few days later she had a CT scan followed by a consult with her oncologist. The results showed about 5 tumors taking about 35-40% of the liver. From April’s tentative remission to October’s diagnosis of stage IV cancer. Needless to say, this is a devastating result. Gaby has spent her adult life helping others to heal and now she needs our support to heal herself!
And now we act. We started chemo on November 11th and complicated, life saving surgeries are scheduled for April 3, 2025. Gaby has undergone 8 cycles of chemo and has had one surgical procedure (PVE) that left her with a left arm nerve injury that is requiring intervention as well.
One thing we do know is given the aggressive nature of the cancer, and the immediacy of the treatment, Gaby's ability to do all the things she loves including working with her clients & patients will be impacted significantly. And the financial stress will be great. For how long, we don't yet know.
This is where you can help. Specifically Gaby will need financial support with things like rent, utilities, food, car payments, cell phone & internet, acupuncture, medical expenses & supplements...and of course, her much beloved boys...Auggie, Trevor and Dougan.
- There are many ways you can support. Financially is one critical need. Any amount helps. There are other ways to help especially with transportation, housing and cat care. Please see my CaringBridge posts for updates and reach out to me directly for more tangible things you can do or ways you can contribute. Keep on visiting the "bridge" and we will be there.
With an Undefended Heart,
Gaby, Auggie, Trevor and Dougan
