Support Gabriel's Fight Against Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Gabriel, a single father of amazing Twins, and I am reaching out to you with a humble heart and a great need. In 2022, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system. This diagnosis has turned my world upside down, bringing with it a multitude of challenges, both physically and financially.

Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a serious illness, but it is also one that can be treated with the right medical care. My treatment plan initially included chemotherapy, which was unsuccessful after 6 months of treatment. These treatments, while necessary, were incredibly costly. Despite having health insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses for doctor visits, medications, and treatments were overwhelming. I questioned whether I could even continue past the initial failed treatment, but I always thought of how strong I needed to be for my children, to know that I gave every last ounce to make sure I could one day be there for them in all their times of need. After being given a grave outlook, and being told to prepare for the end, I diligently worked to become a candidate for a clinical trial. I suffered through immense pain and suffering on the mental and physical levels but always knew that if I took it one step at a time, I could get there. And that is what happened, I was admitted into the clinical trial to commence immunotherapy, in combination with a bone marrow transplant. After a grueling 10 months of additional treatment, I received amazing news right before Christmas 2023, that my scan came back with minimal FDG uptake. This means that while trace amounts of cancer were still present, we saw a massive reduction in cells, and treatment seemed to be highly effective.

Medical bills have piled up, and I am struggling to cover the costs. In addition to the medical expenses, there are also everyday living costs to consider which nearly tripled with the necessary care. I had to reduce my work hours significantly due to the debilitating side effects of treatment, eventually taking an unpaid leave of absence, which has further strained my finances.

I am reaching out to you, my community, for support. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in my life. Your donation will go directly towards covering the following:

CT Scans & medical upkeep sessions
Insurance costs to ensure no lapse occurs
Medications and prescriptions
Hospital visits and stays
Transportation to and from treatment centers
Daily living expenses during my treatment period
Having stability for my Twins, and our family, during a tough time

Even if you are unable to donate, your words of encouragement and support mean the world to me. Knowing I am not alone in this fight gives me the strength to keep pushing forward. Please consider sharing my story with your network to help spread the word.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every one of you for your kindness, generosity, and support. This journey is not one I ever imagined I would have to take, but with your help, I am hopeful that I can overcome this illness and return to a healthy, happy life.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for considering a donation to my GoFundMe campaign. Together, we can fight Hodgkin's Lymphoma and come out stronger on the other side.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Gabriel, Gabriella, Sterling, & Osa
