Gabrielle was born with a rare cardiac condition called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), which basically means that the left side of her heart did not develop. Her life was saved through a series of pioneering surgeries that have allowed her to live a full life for 39 years. However, these surgeries were only a palliative measure. In light of recent medical issues, Gabrielle is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic and is likely going to need a combined heart and liver transplant as soon as it is possible.
Although insurance has so far been covering all of our medical expenses, the costs of frequent trips from Michigan to Cleveland are fast becoming more than anyone in our family can bear. Gabrielle will most likely need to stay at the Clinic for several months before and after her transplant. If you are able to donate, all funds raised will help us to afford gas, hotels, missed work, childcare, and all of the other costs that come with caring for a loved one who is far from home.
We know that Gabrielle has touched many lives, and we are grateful for everyone who has offered to help us, whether with time, money, or prayers. You are helping Gabrielle to get the care and support that she needs to and keep our family together.
Thank you,
Gabrielle, Greg, Catherine, and our whole family
