My name is Gabrielle Knox, and I’m a 7th grader at Sacramento Country Day School. I’m reaching out today with a heartfelt request for your support.

Public school was a tough experience for me. I faced challenges like violence and bullying, which made it difficult to focus on my education. With over 40 kids in my class, getting one-on-one time with my teacher was nearly impossible. I struggled with math, and since my school didn’t have enough staff to help, my mom had to find a tutor outside of school. Even with these challenges, I worked hard, graduated at the top of my class with A’s and B’s, and was honored to be the graduation speaker for my 6th grade class. But I knew I needed a place where I could truly thrive—and most importantly, feel safe.

When my mom introduced me to Sacramento Country Day School, everything changed. After that first visit, I fell in love with the school, the staff, the students, and the campus. I felt inspired, safer, and more supported, and I discovered endless opportunities and resources to help me reach my dreams. I plan to go to law school one day. The smaller classes mean the teachers can give us the attention we need, and everyone—teachers and students encourages each other to be our best selves. The students I met were so nice, just like me.

I believe this school can provide me with the education I need to achieve my goals while also allowing me to pursue my passion for sports like track and explore new interests like volleyball and art, which I love. However, the tuition is $35,000 a year, including afterschool care. As a single parent, my mom is doing everything she can to make this possible for me, but it’s a lot to manage on her own. Unlike many of my classmates who have both parents involved, everything falls on my mom—from paying tuition to getting me to school each day, all while she works tirelessly to provide for me.

That’s why I’m reaching out to ask for your help. Any donation, no matter how small, would mean the world to me and bring me closer to a brighter future. Your support would allow me to attend a school where my education is taken seriously, and where I can focus on learning and new experiences without the fears of violence or bullying.
