Matthew Fugate was a big personality who made everyone’s darkest days brighter. He cared deeply for people, spreading love and encouragement wherever he went. Through daily acts of kindness, whether a simple phone call or a visit, he made everyone feel like a superstar. If Matthew knew you were struggling, he would call, show up, and stay until you knew you weren't alone.
Matthew is survived by his fiancée, Gabrielle, their pups Eevee, Pierre, and Solana, and his family in Texas and Alabama, including his beloved mother Deborah, his father W.H., and his brother Coby.
He was a member of the Directing Board of the Abundance Foundation, dedicated to building bridges and breaking chains by helping those struggling with substance abuse regain control of their lives and live with abundance. In his own recovery, Matthew helped countless people through his selfless devotion to others and the ripple effect of that support continues throughout the community today. He was a man of faith, family, and optimism who embodied the Holy Spirit every day. As a small business owner and founder of The Fugate Team real estate brokerage and property management company, Matthew touched countless lives throughout Northern Colorado and beyond.
On Thursday, June 4th, Matthew passed away, leaving Gabrielle and his family to navigate an unimaginable loss. In addition to funeral and celebration of life expenses, the family is facing legal and estate-related costs as they work to carry forward Matthew’s legacy.
Without immediate access to many of Matthew’s business and personal systems, the family is relying on community support during this difficult transition. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden and allow them to focus on honoring Matthew’s life and caring for one another.
Any remaining donations will be directed toward a cause that reflects Matthew’s legacy, chosen jointly by Gabrielle and his mother, Deborah.
