My name is Gabrielle, and five days before Mother’s Day 2026, my mother unexpectedly passed away. The last month has been one of the most difficult periods of my life. Along with grieving the loss of my mom, I’ve been helping support my younger siblings and working through the responsibilities that come with losing a parent at such a young age. Because of everything that happened, I had to take time away from work to attend and help plan my mother’s funeral. While I did what I needed to do for my family, the lost income has left me struggling to catch up on rent, utilities, and other essential bills.

Life was already challenging before this loss. Like many young adults trying to build stability on their own, I’ve been balancing work, housing costs, transportation expenses, and financial obligations while doing my best to create a better future for myself. The unexpected loss of my mother turned an already difficult situation into a crisis. I currently work full-time and am actively seeking additional work opportunities to increase my income. I am not looking for a long term solution from others. My goal is simply to make it through this difficult season, avoid losing my housing, and regain financial stability while I continue working and moving forward.
