Support Gabriel O. Montes' Recovery Journey

My name is Gabriel O. Montes, and I have been a proud member of Local 54 for the past 17 years. On November 3rd, 2024, I was involved in a motorcycle accident while attending the Lone Star Rally. Unfortunately, the incident was a hit-and-run, and, to make matters worse, the police did not file a formal report regarding the accident.

As a result of the collision, I sustained several serious injuries, including head trauma, injuries to my arm, and a broken leg with a shattered knee. The damage to my knee is extensive, and I am scheduled for additional surgery on November 19th to address the injuries further. At this point, it is unclear exactly when I will be able to return to work, but based on the severity of my injuries, I anticipate it will take approximately 6 to 7 months for me to fully recover.

I am focused on my recovery but wanted to share this update with my colleagues and the union. I greatly appreciate the support and understanding as I work through this difficult time.
