Gabriel (U16) and Jolie (U14) have been selected to represent Great Britain at the International Children’s Races in Slovenia and Croatia.
This selection follows years of disciplined training, both in the UK and in the Alps. Early mornings, dry slope sessions, long training blocks abroad and countless race weeks and weekends. Progress in ski racing is measured in hundredths of a second, and improvement demands consistency, resilience and determination.
Being selected for the British Children’s Team is a major milestone and a huge honour.
However, there is no central funding at this level. The total cost of competing at these GB races, including travel, accommodation, team fees and equipment, is approximately £5,000. This is on top of the considerable financial commitment already required each season for them to train and compete in the Alps.
We are raising funds to help cover:
• GB team race camp costs
• Travel to Slovenia and Croatia
• Official GB team jackets and race suits
Any contribution, large or small, will go directly towards enabling them to compete and represent Great Britain.
Any funds raised beyond the £5,000 target will go directly towards the ongoing costs of the season and future training blocks.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and for supporting young athletes competing at international level.
