Gabi Kaplan, our beloved friend and colleague, tragically lost her husband Jack to pancreatic cancer this summer. She and her son Leo, who just started at Hunter College in September, are now mourning a husband and father while trying to manage a single-parent household.

Gabi is too young to qualify for Jack’s social security benefits and is struggling to support a family solely on her income. Although Leo lives at home, he still has tuition and school-related expenses.
