Gabe has been living with diabetes for many years, and his journey has been marked by both incredible challenges and inspiring resilience. Through disciplined diet and positive lifestyle changes, he overcame obesity and has continued to serve his local church by greeting members and guests every Sunday. Gabe’s commitment to helping others extends beyond his church—he volunteers with ministries that feed the homeless in Houston and support women and children at risk. He even serves globally, empowering men to pursue meaningful lives.

Over the past seven years, Gabe has endured multiple infections that have led to the removal of parts of his feet. Despite losing half of his left foot and several toes on his right, he remains dedicated to his community, always showing up with zeal and a grateful heart. Most recently, Gabe underwent a procedure to remove an infected bone in his right foot and received two stints in his right leg to improve blood flow. He faces more medical tests ahead, including a chemical stress test on his heart.

Gabe is on Medicaid and a fixed income, but the costs of his current hospitalization and ongoing care are far beyond what he can manage alone.
