Support Gabe's Access to Healthcare

Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
We are reaching out to you today with heavy hearts and a sincere plea for assistance. Our family is facing a critical juncture, and we desperately need your help to relocate to a safer location with access to affordable healthcare.
Our Story
At the center of our family is our medically fragile son/brother. His condition requires constant care and attention, resulting in staggering medical expenses. As many of you know, Gabe has received two heart transplants and despite the severity of his condition, and the fact that he has an "automatically qualifying diagnosis," he doesn't qualify for SSDI because I make "too much" money on paper.
However, the financial reality is far from comfortable.
Our out-of-pocket medical costs amount to a crushing $25,000 per year (minimum). To meet these expenses and keep our family afloat, I've been forced to work two full-time jobs for the last decade. The strain this puts on our family life and my ability to care for my son is immense.
Much of the trauma we have been navigating as a family has been directly related to the constant need to advocate for Gabe to have access to healthcare and my need to work an unsustainable amount to be able to pay for it. Being told over and over again for 18 years that his healthcare needs didn't matter more than my ability to pay for it has worn all of us down. Imagine being told that your sick kid who can't live without care doesn't deserve the care he needs unless you can afford it.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives. We are deeply grateful for any support you can offer.
Thank You.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your compassion and generosity will help us start a new chapter in our lives, one where we can breathe easier, knowing our son/brother will receive the care he needs and our family can live without fear.
With sincere gratitude,
Xochitl, Eden + Gabe
P.S. Please share our story with others who might be able to help. Together, we can make this crucial move a reality.
