For Gabe Hoffman and his great-grandmother
Gabe Hoffman is an 11-year-old sixth grader at Cottonwood Elementary who has already experienced more loss and instability than most children his age. Gabe recently learned that his father passed away in Alaska. After already losing his great-grandfather, Gabe and the 76-year-old great-grandmother who is raising him are now facing another heartbreaking loss together. When asked what could be done to help during this painful time, Gabe did not ask for anything for himself. He simply said, “Please do something nice for my grandma.” That quiet, loving request says so much about who Gabe is and the bond he shares with the person who has been his steady, caring presence through so much.
This fundraiser is for Gabe and his great-grandmother as they grieve, heal, and navigate the difficult days ahead. She is unable to work and does everything possible to make sure Gabe has a safe home and what he needs. The support raised will help ease some of the financial stress they are carrying so they can focus on caring for one another instead of facing every burden alone. Any donation or share, no matter the size, will help remind Gabe and his grandma that they are surrounded by a community that cares. Please consider supporting this fundraiser and coming together to answer Gabe’s heartfelt request to do something nice for his grandma.
