My name is Gabby Overholt and I am incredibly honored to have been accepted into the Eastern Festival of Music this summer! This is a highly selective, five- week orchestral training program in Greensboro, North Carolina, where I will have the opportunity to perform major orchestral works and study under John Shaw, principal percussionist of the Florida Orchestra.

Being selected for this festival is a huge honor and a major step forward in my musical career, but having the opportunity to attend would be life-changing. Not only will I spend the summer learning and performing music, but I will form connections and play alongside other talented musicians from across the country. This festival will also give me a real glimpse into what it’s like to perform in a professional orchestra setting. It’s an opportunity to challenge myself, grow artistically, and take a significant step toward my future goals.

However, this program comes with significant costs. The total cost of the program is $6,475, which includes tuition, housing, and fees, which is why I am reaching out to my community for support.
