They made it!
For the past seven months, these exceptional students have been working diligently on their National History Day (NHD) projects—conducting research, building exhibits, and crafting presentations that bring history to life.
On February 21, our Honors students competed in the Mobile County NHD competition, earning numerous 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. They then advanced to the state level, presenting at the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery. Lott Middle was the only non-private, non-prep school represented—and still, our students triumphed, bringing home six First and Second Place medals.
Now, we are incredibly proud to share that these students have been invited to represent Alabama at the National History Day finals in Washington, D.C. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of these young scholars, most of whom have never traveled outside of our region.
We're excited for the girls to experience our nations capital and history, while competing in a national contest. Anything is appreciated to help root our girls on!
