Baltimore Lab School has been part of John’s world for most of his life. He arrived as a young child who needed a place that would understand, challenge, and help him discover who he could become. BLS did all of that and more. It became the place where John learned to find his voice, build confidence, embrace his strengths, and grow into the extraordinary young person he is today as he prepares to graduate with the Class of 2026.

For our family, BLS has not just been a school—it has been a lifeline, a community, and a constant source of belief in John’s potential. We’ve seen firsthand how dedicated teachers, individualized learning, and creative support can change a child’s life trajectory.

Now we want to ensure that other families have that same chance.

We are creating The John R. Medeiros Scholarship to honor John’s journey and help future BLS students who need financial support to access the opportunities that shaped him so profoundly. This scholarship will directly support families who want what every parent wants: a place where their child will be understood, supported, and set up to thrive.
