My name is Funke Ashekun.
I am a Christian, a wife, and a mother based in the United States but today, I stand as something more; I stand as a voice that has refused to be silenced.
For years, I have been crying out about serious wrongdoings and abuse against women connected to activities at the headquarters of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in Lagos, Nigeria, especially by their General overseer, DK Olukoya. He hides behind his pastors to sue and bully individuals into submission.
I have spoken about patterns of abuse, coercion, and control that should never exist in any place called the house of God. I have also raised concerns that families are being torn apart, and that in some instances, men who resist sending their wives for certain prayer activities against their will have faced intimidation and incarceration at his hands unless they humiliate themselves or submit their wives for multiple corridor prayer sessions.
However, instead of accountability, the church leadership has responded with intimidation, retaliation, and relentless legal persecution.
I have faced:
- Multiple lawsuits which include
Two Criminal proceedings which I won,
- Coordinated efforts through affiliated branches and individuals, all because I have refused to stay silent and I will not stay silent! A recent trial has just been concluded.
What happened in that courtroom has only strengthened my resolve.
- Key evidence was excluded
- Witnesses were blocked from testifying
- Critical testimony was never heard
- The scope of the case shifted during trial
- I was left to defend myself without counsel and to make matters worse, the court couldn't find my submitted exhibits and said it was trashed by mistake which meant the jury saw nothing.
I have spent over $400,000 fighting these battles and I am not sorry, I will do it over again if it meant keeping the fire burning and opening the eyes of God's children to the lies and the evil going on.
Today, I am financially exhausted—but spiritually unshaken.
THIS IS MY STAND.
This is not just about me.
This is about truth versus falsehood.
This is about justice versus intimidation.
This is about light confronting darkness.
This is about the Body of Christ!!!
Who is on the Lord’s side??
The church must not be a place where wrongdoings are concealed, where voices are silenced, or where fear is used as a weapon.
We are called to stand for righteousness, for truth, and for justice.
Our generation cannot afford to look away.
THE NEXT BATTLE: APPEAL
I am preparing to take this fight to the Appeal Court. If MFM would win, they have to win by merit, not on lies, and my defense being thrown out the window.
WHY I NEED YOUR HELP
I am raising $75,000 to fund legal representation, court filings, transcripts, and preparation.
A CALL TO STAND
No retreat.
No surrender.
Stand for the truth. Stand for justice.
God bless you as you give.
