Support funeral costs and his son, JeCori.

Hello, I'm Wilson Cardwell, aka ‘Willie’, the youngest brother of Anthony Dwayne 'Peanut' Roberts. My big brother, superhero, family funny guy, first coach of all sports, and best friend of many passed away suddenly on January 16th, 2023, from a massive stroke. He was 41 years young and left behind his 12-year-old son, JeCori Roberts, and ailing mother, Irene Robert, who he served as a caretaker and confidant.

At the age of 12, Peanut was diagnosed with Type-1, childhood diabetes following a major bout of illness during an away basketball camp. Always a fighter, he did not let his illness define or limit him, going on to become a three-sport athlete throughout middle and high school. Though, as he got older, Peanut was left unable to work and received some disability assistance. One vital expense that he has gone without is insurance, which has now placed a heavy burden on our family. We ask the community, friends, and family that cared so deeply for and opened their arms for him to provide support as we lay to rest the strongest man our family has ever come to know and love.

We hope to raise at least $15,550 to support the cost of Peanut’s funeral service and use the remaining funds to create a savings account for his son. We’ve paid $4,550 towards his funeral expenses and are still in the process of planning and purchasing all necessary items and processes for his burial. Our costs include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Funeral home arrangements
  • His clothing
  • His casket and casket seal
  • Flowers
  • Service fees (food, printed memorial, AV, etc.)
  • Burial
  • Publishing costs for his obituary
  • Any outstanding fees with the hospital and/or other debt held by Peanut at the time of his death

We hope that we can secure additional support to set aside money to help support the long road ahead for JeCori and his mother. We want to make sure that anything our brother would have taken care of can continue through his physical absence. We want to make sure that we can surmount any financial barrier that may arise as JeCori grows up. As a community, we ask for support for JeCori and his mother as they go on without Peanut’s love and support.
