To all the friends, students, and family of Nestor Zamora: Mr. Zamora was well-loved and known for his God-given gift for music. During his time in this world, he has blessed many through the ministry of music, whether it be teaching music to his band students, working with his choir, or engaging with the choir in his church. His love for music was seen in his passion for action, and through that action, he shared God's love through music. He has taught music and has been an integral part of music ministry in many places from San Gabriel Academy, LSA, Central Filipino Church in LA, and the Loma Linda Filipino Church. Mr. Zamora always believed you should share your God-given gifts of music, which is why he encouraged each of you to pursue your music and keep up with it, and why the Zamora family would play for churches. As some may know, Mr. Zamora has been battling Parkinson's since 2006/2007. He has been living in a board and care and was recently vaccinated against COVID-19 in May of 2021. However, where Mr. Zamora was residing had an individual test positive which led to a quarantine of the facility. Shortly after placing Mr. Zamora on hospice on July 30th due to his continued decline with Parkinson's, he tested positive for COVID. Already compromised from his Parkinson's, the family was contacted on Sunday, August 1, 2021, to come and see him due to his rapid decline. Mr. Zamora was able to hear family bid their goodbyes and love to him through a window, and through the technology of Zoom, he was able to have words of comfort and hope from Zelne's Auntie Nellie, and prayer from Zelne's cousin Pastor Alne Roda. Mr. Zamora was able to hear Ray, Zelne, Daric, and Daphne tell him how much they love him, and that they were all going to be okay so that he can now rest his mortal body. Mr. Zamora deteriorated quickly and passed away peacefully early Monday morning on August 2, 2021, at 12:36AM.
The impact Nestor Zamora left on everyone is deep and priceless. His gift for music has given each of us a closer connection to the Lord. As Nestor is now resting in wait for his reunion with our Lord on that day, Ray and Zelne continue to keep his legacy alive. They both give back with a spirit of teaching as both teach within Nursing. To all the friends, students, and family, if you are able to provide any monetary contribution towards helping Zelne in supporting the financial needs of honoring her father would be greatly appreciated on behalf of the Zamora family. Thank you and God bless.
