The amount of loss the Garnica Family has experienced in the last year is beyond comprehension for most of us.  Their lives changed drastically starting on April 11, 2020.  Emma, who was the matriarch of this beautiful family, passed away on that day.  Emma lived in the family home with her husband, Adalberto, adult daughter Leonor, adopted daughter Emelina (10 years old) and grand daughter Madalynn, just  4 months old.  The family was trying to adjust to life without their beloved Emma, care for an infant, provide extra love and support for Emelina, and deal with the Pandemic that the world is going through.  

Then tragedy struck this grieving family once again this week.  On February 10, 2021, the kind hearted father of this family, Adalberto Garnica, lost his battle with Covid 19.  He was hospitalized a month prior to his death.  During that time, Leonor- who is a first time mom and now also caring for her little sister Emelina, lost her job.  She was let go because she could not work the hours that were required, as she has no caregiver for her young daughter and sister. 

This last year has been hard on all of us, but this family has survived the unthinkable.   Leonor, Emelina and Madalynn are trying so hard to keep their heads above water and hold on to what they have.  They could really use some support at this time.     

Both Adalberto and Emma were wonderful people who opened their home to countless foster children over the last 10 years.  Adalberto is remembered as a fair and kind person by his employees and friends.  This couple was known to be willing to help others in a heartbeat.  We ask that if you are able, please consider donating to help cover the unexpected costs that have come up due to this unimaginable loss.   This would allow Leonor and the girls to focus on their family and be able to grieve the loss of both their parents this year, without worrying so much about the financial burden.  Any amount is much appreciated.
