The girl you see in the photos is Ambrin my beautiful daughter. She is struggling with walking and dizziness and now needs home modifications to keep her safe and independent.
3 months ago she suffered with a migraine that came out of the blue, after a week of severe migraines, came blurred vision, and being unsteady on her feet then she started slurring her words.
We took her to hospital where we discovered she had a mass on her brain.
This was further investigated by an MRI scan that showed a tumour. She was transferred to the Royal Preston hospital where she then had a biopsy taken. It was discovered she had a rare tumour identified as H3K27M mutated midline glioma. Grade 4 aggressive brain tumour affecting the brain stem.
She has undergone two operations to drain the fluid from her brain then a third operation was then done to fit a permanent shunt.
After recovering she was allowed home to rest before radiotherapy started.
After 3 weeks of radiotherapy the fluid came back on her brain and she has now just had her fourth operation for a shunt to be fitted on the opposite side.(Apparently this is very rare)
We will now have to wait a further 2 weeks for radiotherapy to re-start from where we left off.
After the radiotherapy Ambrin will start a trial drug to help shrink the tumour unfortunately this tumour is rare and inoperable .
In time her care needs will increase and in preparation for this we want to install a stair lift and an accessible bathroom to help keep her independence for as long as possible.
Ambrin has never complained once through this whole experience and always asks about everyone else she is an amazingly brave strong woman and needs your help .
Any donation is truly appreciated
