We had the pleasure of meeting/getting to know Travis, and his fiancée Colette, during their clinical year of veterinary medical training. These two really stood out and were (are) well-known for their dedication to the veterinary field and their colleagues, as well as their kindness, skill, and knowledge. They were always fun to be around and regularly put in extra hours with an incredible eagerness to learn and help throughout their training.
Travis and Colette graduated from veterinary medical school in May of this year (just over a month ago!). A few weeks ago, Travis developed symptoms that were suspected to be related to bronchitis. Last week, Travis and Colette received terrible news – Travis was diagnosed with cancer. This kind, generous, and humble 26-year-old is fighting a type of fast-growing lymphoma that is compressing the organs in his chest and has caused fluid to accumulate around his lungs and heart. Although this cancer is responsive to medication, his chemotherapy regimen is intensive and requires inpatient hospitalization. Not only did this all transpire shortly after graduation and right before this bright young couple could begin their new jobs in Minneapolis, but it is also a few short months before their scheduled wedding date, which would have occurred in September. Understandably, Travis and Colette have needed to postpone their wedding at this time.
We hope to help support Travis and Colette during this time which was supposed to be about exciting new beginnings. All donations will go directly towards medical bills, travel costs, and daily care expenses for Travis while Colette begins her employment in a veterinary emergency facility. Any support is greatly appreciated! We know Travis can beat cancer! He is one tough guy who cannot wait to get back to his everyday life!
