Support Fund for Scented Leaf Employees

Hi Scented Leaf fans. As everyone knows, the recent Coronavirus pandemic has put major pressure on businesses, including our lovely tea houses in Tucson, Arizona. We are located near the University of Arizona and Downtown Tucson, both of which have turned into ghost towns since classes and a lot of work shifted to online and restaurants were restricted to take-out only. 

Because of social distancing, our amazing, thoughtful, optimistic, beautiful and caring baristas have taken a serious hit on their finances. Even with the current stimulus bill being approved, the majority of staff are students and still claimed on their parents' taxes. Therefore, most won't see any of that money or get any financial relief.  If they are lucky, they many get $500 from their parents' claim, but there are no guarantees.

With that said, I am starting a GoFundMe campaign for the 20+ employees that normally have 30-40 hours a week in pay and are now getting 0-12 hours. These employees need money soon since rent and other living expenses are due in the next week. Even if we reach our goal, they will still be short on cash since we have such a large staff. Normally we rock n' roll with student business, but that's all but gone, so there are many baristas without work. Your help will buy them time.

Please donate any amount you can to help them out. Many of them have no idea how they will survive this ordeal since they are getting little to no hours. We stay open for take-out orders only, which doesn't cover the expenses of our incredible staff nor other operating expenses.

As the owner I will not receive a penny from the donated proceeds that you so graciously provide. I promise this wholeheartedly. These amazing employees have been my family as well as family to countless other customers' for years during their college time. All we are asking is a little (or a lot) to get them through this horrific situation.
