On Saturday, Oct. 14 my little sister took a bad fall down steep wooden stairs to a concrete pad. We are very thankful that the medical team saved her, but she fractured her skull in two places in the back, as well as broke her nose and cheek. The neurologist team have stabled the bleeding in her brain, but there is still swelling. The latest update is that once she is down-graded out of ICU, she'll spend another 2 weeks, then will need 24-hr supervision when she is released. 

Her husband, Jamie, has been by her side almost constantly because he is the only one Misty wants. He will have to go back to work next week though as they cannot afford for him to take unpaid fmla unless we can find a way to help shoulder their financial burdens.

The costs are adding up and their small family needs some help. Immediate costs includes daily meals and the 'family room' the hospital helped to get, which does have a daily cost but will give her husband somewhere to sleep between shifts. Last night he slept in his car and we can't let that happen again.

The upcoming medical bills are going to be astronomical, but for now we'd like to be able to gather enough donations to allow him to take a few weeks of unpaid leave, to be there for Misty, as well as cover his incidentals.
