WHO WAS THIS WOMAN WE CALL MS. ALICE?
Ms. Alice Carter was an 82 year old lifelong resident of Lexington who quietly raised eight children and worked as a nurse for many years at UK. She was a grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend to her community.
WHAT HAPPENED TO MS. ALICE?
Ms. Alice was returning home a few days ago from visiting relatives when she was caught in gunfire and died in front of her house and loved ones. She was an innocent bystander.
WHY ARE WE HER NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS TALKING ABOUT HER?
Ms. Alice looked after and cared for her community. She baked great biscuits and cooked extra food just in case someone stopped by and needed a hot meal. And she loved and supported her Macedonia Baptist Church community in Keene.
WHY ARE WE HER NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS REACHING OUT TO YOU?
Because we all owe our lives to someone like Ms. Alice who looked out for us when we were growing up. This is a life we want to celebrate!
HOW CAN YOU HELP US CELEBRATE THIS LIFE?
Ms. Alice was not a well-to-do woman. She lived with her daughter because her circumstance had become difficult and she had a few health challenges.
You can CELEBRATE this quiet life and HELP her family, now in pain and grieving, by donating money to help them pay for her funeral and other unexpected expenses now in front of them.
