This is Erin's Care Team (Alysia, Chelsea, Oriana) and we're holding a fundraiser to support Erin and her family during this challenging time. Erin is a beloved warrior, sister, daughter, mother, friend! She takes care of so many people and is a steward in our community. It is time for us to care for her, and rally to support her and her family with expenses while she focuses on healing and recovery from a brain surgery and during post-surgery care.
As many of you know, on October 5th, Erin was experiencing physical symptoms that prompted a visit to the ER. It was then discovered that she has a large brain tumor called a vestibular schwannoma. While waiting for a surgery date (which should be in the next month) her symptoms (nerve pain, audible capacity, severe headaches) are increasing which is challenging her ability to work and care for her family in the ways she is used to. She will have to go on medical leave for 7 weeks for surgery and recovery and will need support to heal and care for her two sons.
This fund will be covering the following:
- Loss of wages from extended time off work (she will not receive full pay once her sick hours have been used up)
- Chiropractor appointments to prepare her body for surgery and recovery (she has debilitating back pain while also managing intense symptoms from the tumor)
- Meals for the family while she is in the hospital
- Acupuncture, homeopathy and therapy to support her ability to heal after surgery
- Activities for her two sons (basketball training, boxing, camps during school breaks etc. to keep them active while she is unable to care for them at the same capacity)
