Meet Ham, a hard-working young adult with a great compassion for helping children who have lost their families, and who, as a child, also became an orphan with no other guardians to care for him.

Ham created Hands of Love Foundation in 2020, starting while he was caring for a small group of children that needed care, a home, a guardian. Hands of Love Foundation is an orphanage that is needed for the community of children at risk for the harms of the streets.

It is more than an orphanage; it is family, it is a home, Life, and Ham has showed up for these children, our children. It is a small world and it is our world to co-create and maintain, better, for a better future. Who guards the guardian-less?Ham needs more support now that he has expanded his care for many more young orphans.

When speaking with Ham each week, I can hear how dedicated he is to their future and education, and also by how much he has already organized for many children to go to school, go back to school/a new school, and to afford to stay attending the schools. Ham has successfully gotten kids the supplies to attend schools, but he needs more ongoing support with this.

To be able to keep attending the schools, they need shoes, uniforms, books, school bags, notepads, pencils, art supplies, examination fees, school activity fees; not to mention keeping up with basic necessities and rent for the home. Some of the schools some children attend are far from their home and require transportation fees for the school van. 

As you can see from the photos, Ham does many eductional activities with them at home as well, and would like to have the means to buy more supplies for time at home.

However, healthcare and food are a priority and they are struggling with both right now. Funds for medical fees are also a major need. 

Ham is currently renting the home where they sleep, as well as renting the farm land where he has planted soya beans and maize. With donations and community awareness and aid, he can start saving money for buying a Permanent home soon.
