UPDATE:
In case some of you thought I'd already reached the goal, I must be clear: I have not yet. Along with GoFundMe, I've raised a lot by selling things, working odd jobs, and receiving cash gifts. The remaining amount needed (as of July 2025 ), is $600 for the last phase of the basic legal fees.
Dear Friends, Family, and Generous Hearts,
I’ve lived in the U.S. since 1988 and am thankful for the opportunities I've had to serve in various roles, from working in a vitamin store, dedicating 16 years to a camp for foster kids, assisting individuals with physical disabilities, and tutoring Spanish. I also earned an AA degree from Pasadena City College, which has significantly improved my quality of life.
Like many who came to the U.S. as children, I've struggled with legal status, limiting my job prospects and adding significant stress to my life. However, I’ve had wonderful and rich experiences, a highlight being my marriage to my dear wife. It has also opened the door to resolving my legal issues. This will allow me to pursue more fulfilling opportunities and reduce my stress. Two such opportunities await me now: job offers pending receipt of my work permit.
I’ve researched thoroughly and chosen a reputable and trustworthy attorney to help me with this process. I’m closer to my full goal to cover government and legal fees.
To cover these costs, I’ve started a GoFundMe campaign. If you or anyone you know can support this cause, I would greatly appreciate it. Your help will enable me to build a more meaningful life.
Thank you for considering my request.
