The Fremont Board Gamers group started in early 2022 and has grown quite a bit since then. We are located in Fremont, CA and are a group of board game enthusiasts who meet multiple times a month to play our favorite games, old and new. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

The Meetup platform has helped a lot of board gamers find our group; currently we have more than 1,100 members on Meetup! We also are active on Facebook and Discord (more than 530 active members on Discord), but Meetup is the most popular way for new people to find our group.

Unfortunately, Meetup organizer costs have risen since 2022. In the past 2 years, generous members have donated money unprompted, which has covered the Meetup fees (which are the only costs to the group organizers). In 2025, Meetup charges $300 for a yearly organizer subscription. Without the subscription, we will be forced to end the Meetup group, making it harder for Bay Area residents and visitors to find our events.

If you have found our group via Meetup or used Meetup at all to track our events, I (Jonathan Cheung) ask that you donate a few dollars to our group. The $300 will cover the yearly organizer subscription, so if all of our members on Meetup donated a dollar or two, we would hit that goal very quickly.
