We are fundraising to bring FREE SHAKESPEARE to Brooklyn this Spring.
This March, General Production Studios will make its first outing into live theater with Shakespeare’s most perfect comedy – Twelfth Night, or What You Will.
The core creative team for the production consists of director Matthew Zimmerman, producer and GPS co-founder Trevor Clarkson, producer/actress Gia Bonello (playing Lady Olivia!), and producer and stage manager Kierney McAllister.
Our company hails from all corners of Brooklyn’s exciting indie theater community. This production will be a hearts-on-our-sleeves, no-holds-barred interpretation of the Bard’s classic romp.
We are excited to partner with Duryea Presbyterian Church in Prospect Heights, and will perform the play in their Fellowship Hall. This historic church sits just northeast of Grand Army Plaza, easily accessible for Brooklynnites and patrons from across the city. We are excited for this partnership that will enable us to reach new audiences and build community around theater in Brooklyn.
Your donation will directly support:
Stipends for 10 actors, a stage manager, musician, and our creative team.
FREE TICKETS for this production, which has the potential to reach well over 200 audience members.
General production costs: set dressing, costumes, lights, etc.
Our goal for this and future productions is to create opportunities for theater artists and FREE ACCESS to high quality classical theater in Brooklyn, now and in the future.
Every dollar counts when making independent theater. We welcome all donations, including small dollar contributions (think $5, $15, $25!) – a little goes a long way.
Follow us on social media @generalproductionstudios to keep up with production updates, reserve FREE TICKETS when they become available, and share our campaign to help us reach our goal.
