Hello, my name is Free Lee, a former addict/alcoholic. I started drinking at the age of 16 and by 30, I was a flown-blown alcoholic, I’ve tried everything and anything but wasn’t able to put the bottle down. It was so bad to the point where I lost jobs, relationships, and family and then was on the verge of losing myself until I came into Teen Challenge in Duluth God got a hold of my life and saved me. I’ve always enjoyed running and that was the only thing that kept me going through all those years of my addiction. I had lost that during the midst of my darkness and at Teen Challenge I found that passion for running again through God working in me. While at Teen Challenge Duluth I was able to run Grandmas Marathon and finished it, that gave me hope that through God I can achieve anything. During my time there I had this inkling that God was telling me to run across the country to show others that through God, anyone in addiction can and will achieve anything if they accept Jesus Christ into their lives. Now as I’m finishing up my time here at the Teen Challenge Leadership Institute, that inkling or voice of God has just gotten louder for me to run across this country. This is now my purpose that God, has called me on to do, I know that now. All those miles I ran before and during my addiction all made sense now, God was preparing me, preparing me for this very purpose, to serve him! He saved me and brought me to Teen Challenge to build me up spiritually, surrounded me with people of God that I can learn from, so now armored up in his Word I can go out and spread His Word to those who are still out there suffering just like how I was, but now it’s time, it’s time to answer the call God has put on me. So please help me in this journey, a journey to fulfilled The Purpose. Thank you for your support. - Free Lee
- I will start running in March of 2025.
- Starting point will be Ocean City, Maryland - Ending in San Francisco, California.
- Approximately 3,000 miles and through 12 different states, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland.
- I plan on doing this in 6 months, doing 20 to 30 miles per day.
- I would also stop along the way to spread God’s word and tell my story at local churches and other Teen Challenges on my path throughout the United States.
- I have set up a page so others who are inspired by my story can come out and run a few miles with me as I come into their town. We can all make a difference together, I believe the time is now, we are living in a crucial time as more and more people are falling into the darkness of the enemy and losing hope fast! Let’s do this together and make a movement to push God’s Kingdom and bring back Hope!
