My name is Tarra Pasquier, and a few years ago, I created a Facebook group called FREE FOOD. It started as a small space where people could ask for food if they needed it — or share extra food they didn’t want to go to waste.

Many of you are aware that I’m currently in Europe with my husband, as he is working for our government. Our children and grandchildren are in Kansas. Our friends and neighbors are in Kansas. Greg and I lived in Kansas from 2017-2024 and fell in love with the people.

Even from across the ocean, I continue to run the Free Food group alongside my amazing team of admins, who are fully dedicated to helping people facing food insecurity.

I’m originally from Louisiana, but Kansas has become our home — and it’s where my husband and I plan to retire in less than two years. This community means everything to us, and we want to do our part to help those in need.

What began as a handful of neighbors helping one another has grown into a caring community that truly shows up. We’ve delivered meals to seniors, single parents, veterans, and families struggling to make it through tough times.

Now, because of the government shutdown, the need has skyrocketed. SNAP benefits were delayed, grocery prices keep rising, and more people than ever are reaching out for help. Our group is doing everything we can — but we simply can’t keep up.

That’s why we’re asking for your help.

100% of all funds donated to this GoFundMe will go directly to help families in need in Junction City, Kansas and the surrounding areas.

Every dollar goes toward groceries--every cent will be used for those in need. My family and I will not receive any of this money.
