Support Free Flight Training & STEM JumpStarts for Teens

My name is Kevin Cook and my Mission-Vision-Purpose (MVP) is to... INSPIRE ONE MILLION TEENS TO DISCOVER THEIR PASSION FOR SCIENCE.

In 2017, I conceived of a Learning Design Engine for youth STEM education. The model was an AI that could respond to curiosity prompts from students and teachers and then deliver a customized, interactive, story-based AR/VR lesson.

I was channeling ChatGPT before any of us knew what that was.

Story-based and personalized lessons for teens are extremely vital now because the US consistently graduates 75% of high schoolers below proficiency in math. I know because I grew up "allergic to algebra."

Now I make my living with math. But only because I taught myself probability and statistics in my 30s using stories.

Most kids won't be so lucky. And time is more critical than ever as accelerated technology innovation will dramatically disrupt the economy and available jobs in the next decade.

I was also lucky because my Dad was a pilot and he taught me to fly an airplane when I was 15. I want to help less-advantaged kids, who were not as fortunate as I was, to get FREE flight training and see if they might love it. I'm starting locally in SE Wisconsin and then will expand nationally.

My mission is to inspire 1 million teens to discover their passion for science, technology, engineering, and math. To do that, we need to get them to put down the gaming controller and learn how those GPUs actually work.

This concept of STORY-BASED MATH & SCIENCE is still one of the core foundations of what I'm trying to build with Wisconsin's first STEM Lab & Flight Studio for teens.

And specifically on the Flight Training Ground School -- that invites kids and their parents to explore the possibility of a free EAA Young Eagles discovery flight -- I understand that not every kid will want to fly. But I want to give them a big chance to decide for themselves if they could love it.

My motto is "Wings for Every Adventure" because some kids might be inspired to learn about other aspects of aeronuatics, space exploration, or engineering.
