Support Free Cancer Screenings & Healthcare for the Arab Community in Astoria
We are medical students from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and we’ve launched the Cancer and Healthcare Outreach Initiative (CHOI); a student-led effort dedicated to bringing accessible, compassionate, and culturally competent care to underserved communities.
Over the past year, our team has organized free healthcare clinics and cancer screenings in the Arab-predominant community of Astoria, Queens, where many of our patients are uninsured and face significant barriers to care. Thanks to your generous support, we were able to provide medications and clinical services to over 45 individuals last year, with some patients receiving up to six months' worth of treatment at no cost.
We’re now expanding our work and hosting our next combined free healthcare clinic and cancer screening in partnership with Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Arab Health Initiative at Al-Iman Mosque.
But we need your help again.
Your donation will go directly towards purchasing essential medications for uninsured patients
Let’s continue building trust and improving health outcomes for the Arab community together.
Thank you for standing with us in this vital effort.
