My name is Cheyanne and I’m raising money for my mom, Fredy, until she can get some answers and return to work. Many of my own friends will know her as "Ma" or "Mama Lynn". We found out on Thursday, 11/6, that she has a brain aneurysm.

Over the last few months, she's been experiencing frequent short-term memory loss, feelings of impending doom, and an incurable dull headache. Marshfield-Dickinson ruled out MS and said her tests came back stable when we took her to the ER for the first time in August. We had no further answers other than she also had a high level of inflammation. On Thursday (11/6), after more increasingly significant symptoms, I drove her to UPHS-Marquette's ER for a second opinion. Within 1.5 hours, they set us up for a neuro consult and did their own CT scan.

Marquette confirmed what our initial thoughts were when this all began, and what Marshfield failed to see on their scan—Fredy has an aneurysm in her brain's Carotid Artery. Thankfully, we caught it in time, and she did not need emergency surgery. This gets tricky because Fredy will have to wait until the aneurysm grows to do any kind of surgical intervention.

That being said, she has to be under VERY little stress until she can meet with the Neurosurgeon and discuss what happens next. If not, the aneurysm could rupture. Unfortunately, due to being on restricted duty, Fredy is only scheduled to work 5 days this month, and we are unsure what the future will bring in that regard.

Our mom has always been the one taking care of everyone else, and now she needs our help. She has a very long road ahead with travel to and from specialist visits, treatment(s), further testing, and this extra required time off work. We are pulling together as a family as much as we are able, but I just want her to focus on staying calm and staying safe, without worrying about the extra bills with an already reduced income.
