Support Fred’s Recovery After Stroke
Dear Friends, Family, and Loved Ones,
As many of you know, our dear brother-in-law Fred suffered a life-changing stroke in April 2024. Fred underwent emergency brain surgery to remove a large clot, which ultimately saved his life. However, the aftermath has been challenging, with many ongoing deficits. He spent 44 days in the ICU and rehabilitation hospital, and despite exhaustive testing at UAB Hospital, no definitive cause for the stroke was found.
Fred has spent his life helping others—first with a long career at Apple and then at Amazon. Now, it’s our turn to show him the same love and support that he’s given to so many. Fred is facing a long road to recovery, which involves daily rehabilitation, frequent doctor’s appointments, and the loss of his independence. He now requires around-the-clock care, as his wife, Christen, continues to work full-time to provide for Fred and their son. While Fred is working hard every day to regain his strength and independence, the future remains uncertain. We don’t yet know if Fred will be able to work, drive, or live independently again. This has deeply affected Fred, Christen, and their son physically, emotionally, and financially.
What we do know is that Fred is deeply loved by many, and we are all cheering him on for a full recovery. Your support—whether through financial donations, words of encouragement, or prayers—means the world to him and his family.
How You Can Help:
* Financial Support: Any contribution, big or small, will help with medical expenses, rehabilitation, and the daily costs of Fred’s recovery journey.
* Emotional Support: Cards, messages, and words of encouragement have been a huge source of strength for Fred and his family. Please reach out for the mailing address if you'd like to send a card.
* Spiritual Support: Please continue to keep Fred in your prayers. We believe in God’s power to heal, and your prayers are deeply appreciated.
We are incredibly grateful for the love and support Fred has already received, and with the strength of his community, we believe in his recovery. Thank you for being part of Fred’s journey! Your kindness and generosity mean more than words can express.
With heartfelt gratitude,
