Hi, my name is Else Alonge, and I am organizing this fundraiser for my dad, Fred Davis. If you know Fred, you know he is a strong, stubborn, and proud man who rarely asks for help. But right now, he is facing the biggest battle of his life, and our family is humbly asking for your support to help get him through it.
Fred's fight began back in 2018 when he was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. While treating the cancer, doctors discovered he had a bicuspid valve that needed repair and an aortic aneurysm that had to be monitored until it grew to a size that was operable.
Because of the cancer surgery and his declining physical health, Fred was forced to leave his job at the NYS Department of Transportation. He has since been living on a fixed income while medical needs continue to mount.
During a November 2025 cardiology appointment, doctors confirmed that the aneurysm has grown to a safe operating size. They have scheduled open-heart surgery for December 26th, when he will have both the bicuspid valve and aneurysm repaired. With Fred's permission, we are asking for the community's help to ensure Fred can focus on healing, not financial stress.
Your donation—whether it's $20 or $200—will go directly toward:
•Out-of-pocket medical bills and high insurance deductibles
•Prescription medications and post-surgery rehabilitation
•Travel expenses for follow-up appointments
•Basic living expenses while he recovers
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this link with your network. Every single share brings him one step closer to recovery.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this trying time. Let's get Fred back to being the strong man we all know and love.
