Hi, I’m Lorrie and I am the wife of Fred Mendez. Fred is a garbage man for Republic Services in Fremont, California. He has been extremely hard-working and very dedicated to his profession for 38 years. He is also the most wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather ever to me, his two daughters (Kaitlin and Amanda), his son-in-laws (Jose and Tyler) and grandchildren (Madeline, Elias, and Elliott). He is also such a special person that will go out of his way to help anyone who needs it. 

But right now, he is in need of help. He’s too proud to ask for help, but I feel it’s so much harder to not ask, especially someone who is as special as he is to so many. On October 23, 2025, after 2 years of fighting with his health care provider, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 stomach cancer. His current health care providers are unfortunately not providing him the care he so desperately needs, so we are basically having to get him a second opinion outside of his current health insurance. And because of this, we need to have the funds to get him the right care he so desperately needs.

We will so very much appreciate everything. I just want my husband to get the best chance at the life he so much deserves. Thank you ❤️
