Federico Prieto Sanchez "Freddy" has been courageously battling multiple myeloma, a serious form of blood cancer, for the past several months. This disease affects the body’s ability to produce healthy blood cells and can lead to complications such as bone damage, kidney issues, and severe fatigue. While multiple myeloma is generally uncurable, it is treatable and requires aggressive and ongoing care. Freddy is preparing to undergo intensive chemotherapy followed by a stem cell transplant, treatments that will take a significant physical toll and leave him unable to work for an extended period of time. Even in the best-case scenario, Freddy will require ongoing weekly chemotherapy treatments for the rest of his life to help manage the disease. Despite everything he’s facing, Freddy continues to show incredible strength and resilience. However, the reality is that his journey will involve not only a difficult road to recovery, but also long-term medical care and financial strain while he is unable to work.
