Send Freddy to his resting place of Mexico:
Hello, everyone. My name is Tracy Thompson, the General Manager at Matchbox Capitol Hill-DC, and I’m reaching out on behalf of our beloved team member and friend, Freddy Parades. Alongside our Executive Chef, Jose Santos, we are asking for your help to bring some peace to Freddy's family as they face an unimaginable journey.
Freddy, born on July 17, 1993, in Guerrero, Mexico, was an integral part of the Matchbox family since 2014. Known for his warm spirit, sense of humor, and dedication, Freddy would always light up our kitchen with his love of cooking, his camaraderie, and the constant smile he shared with us all. Freddy was not only a skilled cook but a wonderful friend who, despite the hard work, found time to brighten our days with his jokes. Outside of work, Freddy was passionate about soccer and loved spending time with his dog, Alexma, his loyal companion.
Tragically, with profound sadness we share that Freddy Parades, our cherished colleague and friend, has passed away. Freddy’s deepest wish was to reunite with his parents, whom he hadn’t seen since coming to the United States from Guerrero, Mexico. While he may not have had the chance to fulfill this wish, we can honor his legacy and support his family in this difficult time. To help cover the costs of sending Freddy's body to his hometown in Mexico and memorial arrangements, we have set up a GoFundMe campaign in his memory. His wish was to be sent home; Let's make this happen.
We are asking for any assistance you can provide during his difficult time. Freddy has given so much to us, and now it’s our turn to support his family.
Any contribution, no matter how small is greatly appreciative. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.
With deep gratitude,
Tracy Thompson
