My name is Freddy Gabaldon and for most of my life ive been caring for my amputee mother Judith Gabaldon.

Last year she was diagnosed with cancer and put on hospice, forgoing any treatments and instead opting for quality of life and comfort.

In December a decline started with what I could best describe as dementia.

Post christmas the decline only became worse and moved at an upsetting pace.

At 7:45 am on Friday February the 6th she took her last breaths.

My heart, my world, my everything, moved on without me.

It's been me and her for most of my life, I never planned on leaving her side or living away from her, I've been pushing wheelchairs since I was 10 and it's just been the only life Ive known.

Not only has it been extremely hard emotionally, financially I've also been put in a dire position.

All my finances were tied up with her, we sustained ourselves off her social security and retirement plus what i was making as her certified caretaker.

Now all of that obviously stops and I have to find a new job and make enough to keep up rent and utilities plus the costs associated with her funeral services.

She was a special person, brilliantly creative and witty, an animal lover and defender and one of the strongest senses of justice ive ever seen.

She touched many lives and the outpouring of love that I've seen since confirming her passing has only proved that further.

I don't know how im going to do this without her, but she got me this far and getting up and continuing to move is the least I can do.

Everything I do from here on out is for her.
