Fred Hill is a long-time trade show worker, starting as a general labor in 2008 then moving up to forklift. Eventually he worked as a supervisor then moved on to work for a shipping company. On November 7, 2025, while at work, Fred had a stroke and was rushed to Advent Health in Celebration Florida. He was in there for almost two weeks.

Thankfully, they were able to remove the clot, but he still suffered some damages. Fred has aphasia, trouble concentrating, difficulty reading and getting his thoughts out, his right hand/arm is weak and he has difficulty writing or doing anything one normally would, double vision, and headaches to name a few. As a result, Fred is unable to work. He has applied for disability, but was told it will take at least three months before the application can even process and might take up to a year to receive benefits. They also will not give funds unless he's predicted to be out of work for at least a year. He's ineligible for unemployment and since he is 1099 he gets no benefits from his current work situation. Fred applied for various charity help places such as LHEAP and churches, but so far no luck.

Bills continue to march on and collectors can only show so much patience which is quite unfortunate, but not surprising in this day and age. That being said, Fred's savings are dwindling down to nothing. His bills for the entire month of December are past due and with the New Year looming in the near future, those bills getting taken care of don't look promising either. He's doing the best he can and still trying for other options, but nothing is ever immediate relief and he's struggling and needing serious help at this time.

I'm trying very hard to raise some funds for him to help get him through these tough and scary times until he's able to get back to work which might take months depending on how he is able to heal. With the holidays fast approaching, it's also been quite difficult to try and get anywhere with funding from any sort of institution. I hope you can help and give Fred a hand up during this troubling time. He shouldn't have to deal with the added stress on top of trying to recover mentally and physically from a stroke.
