Hello,
This GoFundMe is for my life-partner, Frank Lalich. In April 2026, while in downtown Raleigh, Frank was attacked by a group of more than a dozen people. He was beaten and stabbed, leaving him with serious injuries and a long road to recovery. While we are all very thankful Frank survived this traumatic attack, he has mounting medical bills and legal fees.
Frank is now facing a difficult journey as he works to heal both physically and emotionally. The costs of his medical treatments, ongoing care, and legal support are significant. Every day is a step towards recovery, but the financial burden makes it even harder for Frank to focus on healing and rebuilding his life after such a traumatic experience.
We are reaching out for support during this incredibly tough time. Your generosity will help cover Frank’s medical and legal expenses and provide much-needed relief as we navigate this challenging chapter of our lives together. Thank you so much for helping! Anything you can give goes a long way to helping Frank and me recover from this traumatic experience.
Frank is very thankful to have an understanding employer, fantastic medical care, two wonderful pups, loving family, and close friends at this time.

So you may ask how this all happened? Here's the story in detail:
Frank and I were walking in downtown Raleigh shortly after midnight on a Friday evening. As we were walking by a bar with an outdoor patio area, Frank saw a small child about three-years-old with a group of bargoers. If you know Frank, you know he sometimes opens his mouth when he sees wrong in the world. In a quick, off-beat comment, Frank expressed displeasure at them bringing their child to a bar after midnight. The group took offense to this comment, and attacked Frank and tried to attack me. The altercation started when Frank was sucker-punched. He called out my name as that initial punch landed on his face. It was the worst moment of my life. Frank was beaten, kicked, stomped, and stabbed. He defended himself with a pocketknife he was carrying. I immediately ran and found police assistance. Police rushed onto the scene and the attackers all fled. Frank was on the ground bleeding and hanging-on for dear life. The whole ordeal only lasted a couple minutes but it felt like a lifetime.
After Frank was attacked, he was rushed to the hospital and lost an immense amount of blood. After a life-saving surgery to reconnect his left-arm artery and an additional follow-up surgery to reconnect his nerves and tendons, he is finally on the road to recovery. However, he is still in immense pain and cannot use his left arm for the foreseeable future. Additionally, he had a concussion, his eardrum was popped, his cornea was scratched, and he was covered in scrapes and bruises.
Unfortunately, life sometimes throws curve balls. Frank's nightmare did not end that night. He was initially accused of being the attacker instead of being the victim by the legal system. His name was dragged-through-the-mud by the local media as well. He was in custody until his legal team found security footage that proved he was sucker-punched and kicked while on the ground. Luckily, justice did prevail in the end. All charges against Frank were dropped and he is home and recovering.
