Support Frank's Battle with Leukemia and Spinal Issues

Donation protected

In 2009, my husband Frank was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML), a type of cancer that affects the bone marrow and blood. It causes the body to produce too many white blood cells, leading to fatigue, infections, and other serious complications. While some people can manage CML with medication, Frank’s journey has been filled with struggles. Over the years, his body has not responded well to multiple medications, including Gleevac, Tisigna, Imatinib, and Sprycel. This has led to frequent hospital stays and constant adjustments in his treatment.

In 2018, Frank’s health took another devastating turn. He had to undergo three major spinal surgeries in just six months (May, June, and November) due to complications in his neck and spine. He spent half a year in the hospital, relearning how to walk after these surgeries. Despite the pain and setbacks, Frank has shown incredible strength and resilience.

Before his diagnosis, Frank worked as a project manager for Federal Security. However, due to the progression of his illness and the toll it has taken on his body, he was forced to retire and go on disability. As a family, we went from having two incomes to one, and my job was never meant to be our primary financial support.

Most recently, Frank’s spinal issues resurfaced. The hardware in his neck began to cause complications, leading to the need for a spinal cord stimulator to help manage his pain. Just two weeks after the procedure, Frank’s incisions were not healing properly, and he had to undergo emergency surgery to clean and replace the stimulator leads.

On top of all of this, we recently faced car troubles that left us with no choice but to trade in our vehicle for a new one, which added an unexpected car payment to our already tight budget.

We are raising four amazing boys: Franky (21), Landon (14), Nico (7), and Stefan (3). While Franky has moved out, our other three children are still at home, and we are doing our best to provide for them. With the rising costs of medical bills, prescriptions, groceries, and gas, we are barely making it month to month.

We are asking for your support to help us cover Frank’s ongoing medical expenses, as well as everyday living costs that have become overwhelming. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us get through this challenging time and focus on Frank’s health and our family’s well-being.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
