Currently, I am volunteering in Frankadua, Ghana, and every day I see just how much the community could benefit from a little extra support. The longer I am here, the more I realize how much I have taken for granted growing up in the United States. Even the smallest things—like a new book or a smile—bring so much happiness to my students and the people around me. This experience has taught me to appreciate life’s simple gifts and to recognize how much of a difference we can make, even with small acts of kindness.
During my time here, I’ve noticed several urgent needs at the school and in the wider community. The school where I volunteer lacks a proper bathroom, and many students don’t have access to basic learning materials like books or a reliable internet connection for their computing classes. Beyond the classroom, there’s a need for food and medical supplies, not just for the school but for the community and local sports programs as well. The nearby orphanage also needs food, clothing, and, most importantly, access to fresh water. These are things many of us might take for granted, but here, they can change lives.
With your help, I hope to raise the funds needed to build a bathroom at the school, provide books and internet for my students, and supply food, medical items, and fresh water to the school, orphanage, and community. Your support—no matter the amount—will go directly toward making a real, lasting impact for these children and families. Thank you for believing in this cause and for helping me bring hope and opportunity to Frankadua.
