Support Frank while he recovers from cancer surgery
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Supporters,
On February 26th, our dad, Frank, underwent a liver resection to remove a cancerous tumor from his liver. After being diagnosed with bladder cancer in November 2023, he endured ongoing treatments and scans to manage that condition. Unfortunately, a liver tumor went unnoticed until Fall 2024. Doctors determined that the liver tumor was operable and could be removed, along with addressing the recurring bladder cancer.
Traveling two hours from home, Dad bravely faced over six hours of surgery, during which 20% of his liver was removed. Due to the physical strain of this extensive procedure, the bladder tumor could not be treated at the same time. Since the surgery, Dad has been recovering in the ICU, with Mom, Cindy, by his side every step of the way. What we thought would be a 7 day recovery has turned in to 19 days, and counting.
Each day brings new medical and financial challenges. Mom spends nearly 11 hours each day at the hospital, unable to work, and is understandably exhausted—mentally, emotionally, and physically—by the demands of caring for Dad, being away from home, and facing an uncertain future.
While we remain optimistic, the road ahead is long and arduous. A few days ago, Dad was taken off the ventilator—a hopeful milestone. Once discharged from the hospital, he will likely enter a rehabilitation facility to rebuild his strength and stability.
My siblings and I are doing everything we can to support our parents during this difficult time, but the financial burden of medical bills, travel, and daily living expenses is overwhelming. We hope to ease this strain, allowing our parents to focus on Dad’s recovery without the added stress of finances.
This journey has made us immensely grateful for our loved ones, and community. We humbly ask for your support—whether through a donation, sharing this campaign, or keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness and generosity would mean the world to us as we navigate this challenging chapter.
Dad has always been witty, resilient, and marching to the beat of his own drum—we miss the healthy him dearly. Mom is a true warrior, showing incredible strength and grace throughout this ordeal.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our support system.
With love and gratitude,
