Our world changed forever on January 4th, when our beloved son Franco was diagnosed with B-cell acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since that day, Franco has bravely faced frequent hospital visits for chemotherapy, enduring the expected but difficult side effects of treatment. Recently, he was readmitted to the hospital due to severe neutropenia, low hemoglobin, and low platelet levels, which required blood and platelet transfusions, as well as treatment for pain and fever.

As parents, we want nothing more than to be by Franco’s side every step of the way. My husband and I are both working full time, but this unforeseen situation has forced us to take unpaid leave from work so we can care for Franco during his treatments and hospital stays. While FMLA helps secure our jobs, it does not cover the lost income from days we must be away from work. This has made it increasingly difficult to keep up with our bills and daily expenses, especially with Franco’s frequent hospitalizations.

We are humbly reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support.
