My name is Francis Morra. My roommate, Chris Field, Sr., suffered a stroke. He is unable to work.
He has to use a wheelchair to get around in our home. I am now responsible for paying all of our bills.
Chris has applied for Social Security Disability Insurance. It will take at least a year before he will know if he can receive Social Security Disability Insurance. Chris is 63 years old.
I am a senior citizen. I am 67 years old. Social Security is my only source of income. I am now responsible for all of the monthly rent, the electric bill, the monthly car payments and car insurance. I have another 27 more payments to make on the car before I can
receive the title to it.
The car is our lifeline. I go to as many pantries as I hear about that are near to where we live. We face homelessness if we cannot pay our bills. Neither one of us has a place to go. We do not have family that can help us.
Unfortunately, Chris has stopped receiving visits from a physical therapist because his insurance will not pay for additional visits. Chris
cannot walk on his own. He was making progress with strengthening
his legs enough to where he would have been ready to walk with a harness attached to him by the physical therapist.
He is very frustrated by his situation and wants to help himself. He is trying to get the insurance company to authorize more visits from the physical therapist.
He has applied for Social Security Disability Insurance. However,
it takes at least a year, maybe longer, before Social Security will be able to make a determination as to whether or not he can receive Social Security Disability Insurance.
We both are hoping and praying that he will receive it although most
people who apply are turned down the first time. Social Security allows you to apply again but the process starts all over again. If you
are denied a second time, then you can have your claim heard by an
Administrative Law Judge.
Again, I want to thank each one of you that sees this go fund me post for any financial help you can give to us. It is most gratefully appreciated.
Sincerely,
Francis Morra
