Support Francia's Journey to Recovery

Donation protected
This is my mom Francia (64 years old), a strong and resilient woman who has faced the challenges of life head-on. Unfortunately, she suffered a bilateral stroke, affecting both sides of her brain, impacting her motor skills, speech, and cognitive thinking. I am one of three sisters and we are all in our twenties. This stroke is even more severe than the two she experienced 11 years ago. Despite her incredible spirit, she doesn't hold hope for significant improvement, especially considering the limited and basic care she currently receives. She requires around-the-clock care, but the assistance provided is minimal and not conducive to improving her quality of life. We aren’t able to financially provide the care she so desperately needs in order to be half of the woman we always knew her to be. She’s been through many obstacles in life and this is another one. We would genuinely appreciate any kind of support possible even if it’s with prayers or words of affirmation to help us get through this together. We have exhausted every option possible in order to provide the proper care but we are all unable to cover the expenses required. As you can imagine, no one ever expects to be put in such a position, unknowing what to do and most definitely not knowing the right answers or decisions regarding the next steps. All we can do is hope that she finds some semblance of motivation to try to regain the strength to keep going as she always did in the past.

A little bit about my mom:
My mom has always been a very resilient and selfless person, she has raised 3 children alone, always provided for us and other people. She has always worked so hard all her life, never took a day off for nothing. She has taken people in with us, we’ve lived with many people because our mother was always willing to help people at their lowest points in life. We grew up in a two bedroom apartment and my mom would have my sisters and I share one room with people she helped and even have them sleep in her own bed with her. She’s always been very selfless and willing to provide anything she could offer. She’s always been dealt challenges and always managed to help others all while trying to help herself.

She has always survived the toughest battles in life. Her resilience goes as far back as 17 years old. At 17, she endured a traumatic car accident where 5 people were forever affected. In short, she is one of the survivors of this devastating tragedy that left 3 people dead, she saved her partner that survived with broken bones and flagged down for help. This is one of the many examples of how blessed and fortunate she has been throughout her life.

As I mentioned earlier, she suffered 2 strokes 11 years ago and I can continue to go on about the many other traumatic events she’s suffered from.
she broke her foot twice in her life, once when we were very little kids and she still worked, the second time was about 3 years ago which resulted in her having surgery and she fully recovered every single time. She broke her clavicle bone TWICE as well (did I mention that she was a hairdresser most of her life?) as a result of her work as a hairdresser she eventually developed “frozen shoulder”, she has also always suffered with diabetes as long as my sisters and I have been alive, as a result of that as well, she developed glaucoma (a disease that effects the nerves in the eyes, a collection of blood that is pressurized behind the eyes that ultimately effects a persons vision). We recently also found out that she also developed a heart condition back in 2022 that my sisters, family and I just recently discovered. By this point, I’m sure (you) reading this right now, is in disbelief about all of the things you’ve read thus far. And you’d be completely right to sit there in disbelief and admiration for a woman who has given her life to everyone but herself. She has spent all of her life being something for everybody but nothing for herself. I have said all of this to say that we need our mom back and the only way to potentially bring her back to who we always knew her to be is by providing the care to give her some quality of life back.

With all the gratitude in the world,
Emily, Giselle and Janelle
