Hi! We are Theodore Frances Domingos and Cyrille Miller, and we are a t4t couple fundraising together for top surgery. While we have different transition timelines and surgery dates, we are excited to take this next step in our transition together. Theodore is a working theatre maker based in Oakland, CA while Cyrille is working musician and student based in Santa Barbara, CA. Both of us have poured time, money, and respite into our communities, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to have our communities pour back into us.

In 2022, we met shelving books at a local Santa Barbara bookstore. Theodore’s section was self-help and psychology while Cyrille’s was queer-nonfiction and fashion, the perfect set up for the queer meet cute neither of us thought possible. We shelved books, talked about movies, ranted about gender theory, and slowly found our feelings and desires had developed past friendly coworkers. Theodore’s time at the bookstore came to an end as he was moving to the Bay Area, and Cyrille, finally, admitted they had feelings for him. Since that coffee shop confession, they’ve been together for three years.

Theodore: By day, I am a long-term substitute teacher in the East Bay, as well as a teaching artist through different Bay Area theatre companies. In my three years as an educator, I have been open about my queerness which has led to positive and fruitful conversations with young, queer students about their own identities. At night, I am a theatre maker with experience in acting, directing, and producing. Recently, I have co-produced drag shows in Los Angeles and San Francisco with my art collective, Snatchbox. These shows have platformed drag kings and queer technicians within their respective cities, providing an outlet for queer art and compensation for the artists.

Cyrille: I spend most of my time as a full time city college student, working on my AA in Music for transfer this fall. I am also working two campus jobs, assisting the music department and house managing for the college theater. Through my involvement in the department, I have had the opportunity to meet many young queer students and have enjoyed becoming a mentor to them and helping other queer musicians navigate the department’s resources.

Theodore’s surgery is scheduled for May 27th through Kaiser San Francisco, and Cyrille’s surgery is on June 16th through the GCC in San Francisco. We’re looking forward to supporting and caring for each other during this process, but we are also looking for support from our community.

We are looking to raise $10,000 in order to cover surgery costs, lost wages for time off, and other medical and life necessities that may arise.
