Ozzy needs dental and eye surgery ASAP!

It’s been a long hard road for foster-dog Ozzy and he needs your help. Life has been so difficult for this 10 year old Spaniel that we cannot even show you his face. Ozzy is currently in protective custody as part of a cruelty case in a location we also cannot disclose for his safety.

What we can share is his story and need for help. Ozzy has endured a life filled with absolute neglect, including starvation, horrific filth, a “home” overrun with other neglected animals, complete lack of healthcare or nutrition and if that wasn’t terrible enough, a very long and lonely stay in a shelter, living on nothing but a concrete floor inside of a mental cage.

There is no reason Ozzy should have survived but by a miracle, he did. Ozzy’s health is terrible but he is a warm, fuzzy, wonderful dog who deserves kindness.

Ozzy’s teeth and eyes suffered the most damage from his abuse. His mouth is completely rotted and he needs a complicated surgery to ease his chronic pain and infections. The infections in particular are so advanced and so serious, the vet believes they will become life-threatening. For those who can stomach the images, we have included pictures of his mouth. We apologize if they are disturbing. We are also attaching the estimate for his dental surgery for purposes of full transparency and so that everybody out there understands the cruelty and impact of animal neglect.

Ozzy also has cataracts and has gone blind in one eye, which due to pain, needs to be removed. Both of these surgeries will prolong his life and as a result, we are asking $5,000 to cover both procedures, beginning with the dental surgery because it is an emergency.

Ozzy deserves this. He is fabulous and young at heart! Ozzy loves to be outdoors and roll in the dirt when not playing with his foster siblings and sleeping on every couch and doggie bed he can find. He is even learning to swim when he feels well enough to do so. He loves people and cuddling and pup cups and bacon. He deserves to enjoy all of these things and more without pain.
